Everybody's Fine- Feb. 05.10

I really enjoyed this movie. I think there was an interesting balance with the actors chosen with this film. Although I would consider them to be main character type actors, they were able to have the equal and significant amount of contribution to the film in the small amount of time that was allotted to each of them. Nothing was better than the role portrayed but Robert De Niro as a lonely father who struggles to connect to his children after the death of his wife due to the rocky relationship he has with them from having pushed them to achieve nothing but the best. He soon realizes with tragedy that sometimes its best to be proud of your children regardless of their achievements. Robert is a classic... the diversity of his acting is rare and always delightful, although happily his facial expressions never change.

The Informant- Feb. 04. 10

I think this was a refreshing change for Matt Damon from the typical action type movies or comedies we have come to expect from him. The movie is based on a real life story of Mark Whitacre who decides to turn on his company and provide evidence to the F.B.I as to a price-fixing plot. However, it unravels that the informant might not exactly be telling the whole story. Overall an entertaining movie to watch.

Creation- Feb. 02.10

I truly enjoyed this movie. I love that this was the film that Jennifer Connelly and her husband Paul Bettany (star of Legion) decided to work on together. A very insightful story providing insight to not only the life of Charles Darwin and how he came about writing the remarkable book: The Origin of Species, but also the conflict between religion and science. Although the book proposes definite arguments against religion its hard to totally disqualify the existence of a God altogether. I think that this is itself a very complex argument, however personally for me science and religion and compliments of each other. Science is the evidence of what in out minds is God. To assume that no matter how many ways we can explain it and theorize it through science that everything is still a mere coincidence is only to think of ourselves as God's all knowing and all capable. Let's just take a moment to step back and see that the intricate nature of the human body itself can not merely be evolution.... although we can categorize it as such to understand and digest it, but to assume that such a complex organic machine was created by time and nothing else, just goes to show that our minds may not really poses the capacity to understand everything there is to see. The evidence that is seemingly disproving the existence of a God, is actually the proof that one exists. We are all merely suffering from variations of a God complex ourselves where we can not accept anything we can not explain to quantify, the soul is a result of bedtime stories and that morality if not based upon logic is medieval. Well you know when its a great movie when you can just talk on and on about the subject matter.

Have you met the Morgans? - Jan. 30.10

Typical romantic comedy. Nothing much I can say except that it helped pass the time.

Up in the Air- Jan. 26.10

I was excited to see this movie, given all the buzz surrounding the film, but i was really left wondering what all the rave was about? Nothing unique or out of the ordinary in terms of a story line or acting... just a simple film about a certain life style and realizing the flaws in out choices. yipeeee!*/

Motherhood- Jan.26.10
